*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Piusa River (Piusa jõgi) in southeastern Estonia is a relatively small, often groundwater-fed watercourse whose temperatures reflect the regional climate and shaded forested valleys. Typical seasonal surface-water ranges are roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in mid-winter under ice, rising to about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) during spring thaw. In summer stretches that are exposed to sun and shallow, temperatures commonly reach 16–24 °C (61–75 °F) on warm days, while autumn cooling brings waters down to approximately 8–14 °C (46–57 °F). Because parts of the river are spring-fed and run through shaded corridors, many reaches stay noticeably cooler than open lakes even in summer.
Swimming in the Piusa is generally possible and practiced locally where access is safe; there are no blanket national bans, but conditions vary by spot and season. In summer, many people swim in the warmer pools and gravel banks, but swimmers should be mindful of cold, swift flows after heavy rain, variable depths, and the absence of lifeguards. In winter the river is normally iced over and open-water swimming is not advisable except for experienced ice-swimmers using proper safety measures. Local signs, water-quality notices and common-sense precautions should be observed before entering the water.
