*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Kızılırmak (in Turkish Kızılırmak) flowing through Sivas reflects the region’s continental climate, so water temperatures vary considerably by season and by depth and flow. In winter the river can be near freezing, commonly around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) where ice and cold runoff lower surface temperatures. Spring warming and snowmelt typically raise the river to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F). In summer, shallow and slower stretches may warm to approximately 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), though faster, deeper channels remain cooler. Autumn temperatures usually fall back into the 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) range as air temperatures drop and flow increases.
Swimming in the Kızılırmak around Sivas is possible in the warmer months in calm, shallow areas, but it is not universally recommended or officially organized. Strong currents, sudden depth changes, cold undercurrents from upstream, variable water quality and the absence of formal lifeguarded beaches make many reaches unsafe for casual swimming. Local rules may restrict access in some places and most people who choose to enter the river do so only where they know the stretch to be sheltered and shallow; for most visitors, supervised or designated bathing sites elsewhere are a safer option.
