*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Hirfanlı Dam (Hirfanlı Barajı) sits on the Kızılırmak in central Anatolia and forms a large reservoir whose surface temperature varies markedly through the year. In winter the surface commonly falls near freezing, roughly 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), while spring warming brings surface waters into the mid single digits to low teens, about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). In summer the shallow, sun-warmed surface can reach roughly 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), and early autumn temperatures typically decline to about 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). Because the reservoir stratifies, deeper water can remain much colder year-round than the surface, and temperatures can change quickly with weather, inflows and dam releases.
Swimming in Hirfanlı Reservoir is a mixed issue: people do swim in sheltered bays and along quieter shores, but authorities generally discourage or restrict swimming close to the dam and intake structures for safety reasons. Fast currents, sudden water-level changes from hydroelectric or irrigation releases, steep banks, submerged obstacles and boat traffic create hazards that make unrestricted bathing unsafe. If visiting for swimming, check local signage and municipal guidance, choose calm, designated areas if available, and use appropriate precautions such as flotation aids and local knowledge of water conditions.
