** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Serpis in the Valencia region shows typical Mediterranean river temperatures that vary markedly with season, location and depth. In winter the surface water commonly ranges from about 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), while spring sees a rise to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) as flows warm and sunlight increases. Summer temperatures in shallow pools and slow stretches can reach 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), though deeper sections and reservoir releases often remain cooler, closer to 10–15 °C (50–59 °F). In autumn the river usually measures around 15–20 °C (59–68 °F) as air temperatures drop and rainfall patterns change. Local microclimates, recent rainfall and reservoir discharges all cause short-term fluctuations.
Swimming opportunities exist in many accessible parts of the Serpis, particularly calm pools, low-flow stretches and some reservoir margins, and locals often bathe there in warmer months. Whether swimming is allowed depends on the exact spot: some reservoirs, areas near dams or infrastructure, and certain protected stretches prohibit entry for safety, water-supply or conservation reasons. Water quality can vary after heavy rain or agricultural runoff, and currents, submerged hazards and sudden depth changes create safety risks. Visitors should follow posted signs, respect local rules and exercise caution when entering the river.
