** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Eo, a river in Galicia that forms a tidal estuary on the border with Asturias, tends to have relatively cool water year-round because of its Atlantic influence and upstream mountain inputs. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range roughly from about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) in winter, warming to around 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) in spring. In the warmest months the river and its lower estuary often reach approximately 14–21 °C (57–70 °F), while autumn sees a gradual decline to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). Local conditions vary with tides, shading, recent rainfall and depth: shallow, sunlit pools warm more in summer, while deeper channels and upstream reaches stay cooler.
Swimming in the Río Eo is permitted in many informal spots and the estuarine areas see recreational use in summer, but it is not uniformly supervised and access depends on local signage, water quality and safety considerations. The river and its estuary are part of a protected landscape, so visitors should respect conservation rules; strong currents, tidal changes and low temperatures can present hazards, especially for prolonged immersion. Where bathing is popular, brief swims in summer are common, and people often use wetsuits or choose calmer stretches to reduce risk. Always check local guidance before entering the water.
