*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Emscher River, located in the Ruhr area of Germany, has undergone significant transformation over the past decades. Once heavily polluted due to industrial and urban wastewater, the river has been part of a major restoration project aimed at renaturalization. Although much of the river's water quality has improved, it is still not suitable for swimming. Water temperatures in the Emscher range from 5-10°C (41-50°F) in winter to 15-20°C (59-68°F) in summer, influenced by industrial cooling processes and surface runoff.
Swimming in the Emscher is not recommended or permitted due to lingering pollution and ongoing rehabilitation efforts. The river’s focus is more on ecological recovery, providing habitats for wildlife and creating green spaces for public recreation along its banks. However, the Emscher is a symbol of environmental progress in the Ruhr area, and nearby recreational lakes or swimming pools are better suited for water activities.
