** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Padova (Padua) itself is not situated on a large lake, but the Veneto region around it offers several inland lakes and reservoirs within a one- to two-hour drive. Surface temperatures in these lowland lakes typically follow seasonal patterns: in spring (March–May) they are often about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as the water warms; in summer (June–August) commonly 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) with shallow or sheltered basins occasionally reaching 27–29 °C (81–84 °F) during heat waves; autumn (September–November) sees cooling to roughly 12–20 °C (54–68 °F); and in winter (December–February) surface values generally drop to 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), while higher-elevation or deep alpine lakes remain much colder year-round. Exact temperatures depend on depth, size, elevation and recent weather, so conditions can vary considerably between nearby sites.
Swimming is allowed at many designated bathing beaches and monitored sites in the Veneto lakes, where local authorities post water-quality and safety information. Authorities may restrict bathing temporarily for reasons such as algal blooms, pollution or conservation rules, and boat traffic or currents can affect safety in some areas. Visitors should therefore use marked swimming zones, heed lifeguard or municipal notices, and check current water-quality updates before entering the water.
