** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Arieș River in central Romania (Romanian: Arieș) is a mountain-fed tributary whose water temperature varies with elevation, season and local conditions. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range roughly from 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter, when ice and near-freezing flows are possible, to about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) in spring during snowmelt. In summer, sheltered lowland or slow-flowing sections may warm to roughly 16–24 °C (61–75 °F), while shaded gorges and upstream reaches remain cooler. Autumn temperatures generally decline to the mid single digits up to about 16 °C (46–61 °F) as air temperatures fall.
Swimming is possible in parts of the Arieș, particularly in summer months when surface temperatures are most comfortable, but it is not universally advisable. There are no widespread formal bathing facilities along the entire course, and conditions vary: strong currents, sudden depth changes, man-made structures, and episodes of poor water quality after heavy rain or upstream discharges can make some stretches unsafe. Local signs, seasonal water quality reports and common-sense precautions—avoiding fast-flowing or murky sections, not swimming alone, and heeding posted restrictions—should guide decisions about entering the river.
