** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Târnava Mică, a modest river in central Romania, shows marked seasonal variation in water temperature typical of temperate lowland and hilly rivers. In winter the water often falls to near freezing, roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), especially during cold spells. Spring brings gradual warming as snowmelt and rain raise levels and temperatures to around 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). In summer the shallow, slow-flowing stretches can warm considerably, commonly ranging from about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) and occasionally reaching 25–27 °C (77–81 °F) in heat waves and sheltered pools. Autumn cools the river again toward springlike values, with temperatures typically between 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as air temperatures fall and flows stabilize.
Swimming in the Târnava Mică is possible in many local, accessible spots during the warm months, but it is not uniformly sanctioned everywhere. Local authorities may post restrictions near drinking-water intakes, industrial discharges, dams, or protected habitats, and water quality can vary with runoff and agricultural influence, so checking signage or local information is important. Even where bathing is permitted, swimmers should be aware of variable depth, underwater obstacles, currents near confluences and structures, and cooler temperatures outside mid-summer; these factors affect safety more than formal prohibition in most areas.
