*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Târnava Mare in central Romania is a medium‑sized Transylvanian river whose water temperature varies with the seasons and local weather. In winter the river can be very cold, often near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while spring typically brings cooler flows of roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) as snowmelt and rains increase discharge. During summer the shallow stretches warm most, commonly ranging from about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on warm days, making the water most comfortable for brief swims. Autumn temperatures generally fall back to 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as air temperatures cool and flows stabilise.
Swimming in the Târnava Mare is possible at many informal spots but is not universally regulated or supervised. Local conditions — including variable currents, submerged hazards, water quality influenced by agricultural runoff or sewage inputs, and sections flowing through private land — determine whether it is advisable to enter the water. Designated, monitored bathing areas are uncommon, so people typically swim at their own risk; checking local signage, recent water‑quality information and avoiding fast or murky stretches improves safety. In short, summer offers the most comfortable temperatures, but safety and legality depend on location and season.
