*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Silverwood Lake is a man-made reservoir in Southern California whose surface water temperatures change notably with the seasons and depth. In winter the lake commonly registers in the mid-40s to mid-50s °F (about 7–13 °C) near the surface, while spring sees a rise into the upper 40s to mid-60s °F (roughly 9–18 °C) as air temperatures warm. Summer surface readings often reach the mid-60s to high 70s °F (approximately 18–26 °C) and can climb higher in prolonged heat, though deeper water remains substantially colder. In fall the lake generally cools back into the 60s °F (about 16–21 °C) before winter cooling resumes. Temperatures fluctuate daily with sun exposure and wind, and thermal stratification means sudden cold pockets below the surface.
Swimming is permitted in many areas of the reservoir but usually within designated day-use or beach zones and subject to posted rules; restrictions may be applied for water quality, low reservoir levels, maintenance, or safety concerns. Because Silverwood is a working reservoir there are hazards to consider: cold, deep water, steep drop-offs, boat traffic, and occasional algae or debris. Lifeguards are not guaranteed at all sites, so swimmers should heed signage, exercise caution, wear flotation as needed, and check current conditions before entering the water.
