*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pleasant Lake in Minnesota follows the familiar seasonal pattern of small Midwestern lakes. Surface water warms through late spring, moving from roughly the mid‑30s to mid‑50s °F (about 2–13 °C) into early summer, and commonly reaches the low to mid‑70s °F (21–25 °C) at the peak of summer; on warm afternoons it can climb into the upper 70s or low 80s °F (25–28 °C). As summer stratifies the water column, deeper layers remain noticeably cooler. In autumn the surface cools back through the 50s–60s °F (10–18 °C), and winter brings near‑freezing conditions under ice, typically around 32–40 °F (0–4 °C), when the lake is not suitable for conventional swimming.
Swimming is generally allowed during the ice‑free months where public access or private shoreline permits it, and many locals and visitors swim from late spring through early fall when surface temperatures are most comfortable. Whether swimming is advisable depends on current water temperature, weather, and any posted advisories for water quality or aquatic vegetation; lifeguards are not always present, and water that is still cool even in early summer can pose a cold‑water shock risk. Ice cover in winter precludes normal swimming and can be hazardous except for supervised, purpose‑specific activities.
