*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Lonho, sometimes locally referred to as Solone (Salt Lake), is located in the town of Novomyrhorod in the Kirovohrad Oblast and represents an old meander of the Velyka Vys River. By its nature, it is not just a swimming spot but a place with potential healing properties. The lake sits on a layer of brown coal, and the mud that has formed in the local bog is rich in mineral and organic substances, making it similar to the therapeutic muds of the Kuyalnik Estuary.
Regarding water temperature and swimming comfort, as Lonho is part of a river valley, the water warms up in the summer much like in the small rivers of Central Ukraine. In July and August, the temperature can reach a comfortable 22−25∘C, which is ideal for swimming. However, it should be noted that swimming in Lonho often has a more therapeutic nature, associated with the use of the medicinal muds, rather than a traditional beach vacation. The water body itself is mostly surrounded by private gardens, and one of its banks is adjacent to a complex of hospital buildings, which imposes certain limitations on recreation organization.
Thus, Lonho offers a unique opportunity to combine swimming in moderately warm river water in the summer with wellness procedures using the local medicinal muds. However, it is not an equipped beach in the classic sense, and visitors should be aware of its specific location and focus on its therapeutic potential.
