** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago di Ripasottile is a shallow, lowland lake in Lazio whose surface temperatures reflect the seasonally variable Mediterranean climate and its marshy character. In winter the water typically sits around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), rising through spring to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). By mid to late summer surface temperatures commonly reach about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), occasionally a few degrees higher on warm, calm days; in autumn the lake cools back to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Because the basin is relatively shallow and vegetated, temperatures can change quickly with air conditions and localized sunlight, so thermometers can show notable variation from one part of the lake to another.
Swimming in Lago di Ripasottile is generally discouraged and in many areas effectively prohibited because the lake lies within a protected natural reserve established to conserve wetland habitats and important bird populations. Restrictions aim to minimize disturbance of nesting and feeding birds and to protect fragile reedbeds and aquatic vegetation. Practical considerations also limit bathing: the shoreline is often marshy, water quality can vary seasonally, and there are few formal facilities or lifeguards. Visitors should follow on‑site signage and local regulations; for recreational swimming, nearby managed lakes or public pools are safer and more appropriate.
