*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Köyceğiz (Köyceğiz Gölü) is a shallow, inland lake in Muğla province whose temperatures reflect the Mediterranean climate and freshwater inflows. Typical surface water temperatures in winter range from about 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), rising in spring to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). In summer the lake commonly warms to around 22–28 °C (72–82 °F), while autumn sees a gradual decline to approximately 18–22 °C (64–72 °F). Local factors such as depth, sheltered bays, and freshwater springs can make temperature vary from place to place, with shallower coves warming faster than deeper basins.
Swimming in Köyceğiz is generally allowed and practiced, particularly during the warmer months when temperatures are comfortable for bathing. The calm, sheltered shoreline and many accessible spots make it a popular local recreation area. However, conditions vary seasonally and by location: colder water in winter and early spring can be uncomfortable for long swims, boat traffic and occasional water-quality variations may affect safety, and some areas may be limited by private access or conservation measures. Visitors should choose sheltered, designated bathing spots in summer for the best and safest experience.
