Water Temperature Trends
Muğla Province, located along Turkey’s southwestern coast on the Mediterranean Sea, enjoys warm and inviting water temperatures throughout most of the year. During the summer months, from June to August, the sea temperature in Muğla typically ranges between 25°C and 28°C (77°F to 82°F). These temperatures make it an ideal destination for beachgoers and swimmers, as the water is pleasantly warm, perfect for enjoying the sun and sea.
In the early autumn, from September to October, the sea remains warm, with temperatures averaging between 23°C and 26°C (73°F to 79°F). This period is considered one of the best times to visit Muğla, as the water is still comfortable for swimming while the region’s summer crowds begin to thin out. As winter approaches, the water temperature starts to decrease, ranging from 18°C to 21°C (64°F to 70°F) in November and December. While it may feel a bit cool for some, it is still tolerable for those who enjoy milder temperatures.
By the time spring arrives, from March to May, the sea temperature in Muğla ranges from 16°C to 19°C (61°F to 66°F). Although the water may still feel a bit chilly for some, it is a great time for those seeking quieter beaches and a more peaceful atmosphere. As the weather warms up, the sea temperature begins to rise again, and by June, it reaches the comfortable levels that Muğla is known for during the summer months.
