** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Salda (Salda Gölü) is a high‑altitude crater lake in Burdur known for clear, mineral‑rich water and notably cool temperatures year‑round. Surface temperatures vary by season: in winter the lake often drops to about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), spring typically brings 8–15 °C (46–59 °F), summer surface readings commonly reach 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), and autumn cools to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). These are approximate surface values; deeper layers remain colder and temperature can shift with weather, wind and inflow. Even in summer the water feels cool compared with lowland beaches because of the lake’s elevation and clarity.
Swimming has historically been possible and physically comfortable mainly in the warmest months when surface temperatures rise, but access and use have been increasingly regulated to protect the lake’s fragile ecosystem. Authorities have introduced restrictions, designated sensitive zones and limited activities to prevent erosion, contamination and damage to the distinctive white mineral shores and microbial formations. As a result, whether you may swim depends on current local rules: the lake’s conservation status is the primary reason for any prohibitions or controls rather than water temperature or safety alone.
