*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago Nero, an alpine lake in Lombardy, typically has cold water year-round because of its elevation and mountain feeding. In winter the surface is often around 0 °C (32 °F) and may freeze over. Spring thaw sees temperatures rise slowly, commonly in the range of about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F). During the warmest months of July and August, surface readings for many high‑altitude “Lago Nero” sites commonly reach roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F); shallow, sun‑exposed spots can be a few degrees warmer, but temperatures above 18 °C (64 °F) are uncommon. In autumn the lake cools again, returning to single digits (below about 10 °C / 50 °F) by late season.
Swimming in Lago Nero is physically possible but often limited by water temperature and safety considerations. There is no universal national ban on bathing in mountain lakes, so swimming is generally allowed unless local signs or protected‑area rules prohibit it; some lakes lie within nature reserves where access or bathing may be restricted to protect habitats or water quality. Because the water remains cold even in summer, swimmers face risks of cold‑water shock, rapid loss of body heat and limited rescue infrastructure in remote locations, so brief, cautious swims, not swimming alone, and attention to local regulations and posted notices are advisable.
