✅ As of today, the minimum water temperature is above 82°F (28°C). This is very warm water, which may feel almost hot to most people. Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. These waters are often preferred for relaxation in hot weather, as the water temperature does not cool the body significantly. However, it is important to remember that in such warm waters, caution is necessary, as prolonged exposure without rest can lead to overheating. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Havasu, straddling the Arizona–California border on the Colorado River, experiences considerable seasonal variation in water temperature thanks to its warm desert environment. In the coldest months of winter (January and February), surface temperatures typically hover around 55–57 °F (13–14 °C). As spring arrives, the water gradually warms to about 70–75 °F (21–24 °C) by late April and May. In the heart of summer (July and August), Lake Havasu climbs to its warmest, often reaching 88–91 °F (31–33 °C), making it one of the more thermally comfortable large reservoirs in the region. As autumn sets in, water temperatures begin to dip and by October are often around 79–80 °F (26–27 °C) before cooling further into winter.
Swimming is permitted at Lake Havasu and is extremely popular during the warm season when the water is comfortably warm and the desert climate encourages cooling off in the lake. The presence of sandy beaches, public waterfront parks and designated swimming areas makes it well-suited for families and recreational swimmers. That said, visitors should be mindful of strong sun, potential boat traffic, and the fact that the lake is large and open, so awareness of currents and deeper sections is important. While the winter water temperatures are cool and less inviting for long swims, the late spring through early autumn window offers excellent conditions for swimming, wading and other water-based recreation.
