*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake George, located in central New Brunswick west of Fredericton, is a medium-sized freshwater lake known for its calm waters and family-friendly atmosphere. Because of its moderate depth and sheltered position, the lake warms up faster than many other lakes in the province. In early spring, following ice melt in April, the water remains cold, averaging around 39–45°F (4–7°C). By late May and June, surface temperatures rise steadily to about 55–63°F (13–17°C). During midsummer, from July through August, the lake reaches its warmest period, with temperatures typically between 68–75°F (20–24°C) in shallow areas. By late September, cooler nights bring the water back down below 59°F (15°C) as autumn begins.
Swimming in Lake George is allowed and very popular during the summer months. The lake’s gentle slopes, sandy beaches, and warm surface temperatures make it ideal for families, campers, and recreational swimmers. The clear, clean water provides pleasant conditions for swimming, paddling, and boating, while local cottages and campgrounds add to its relaxed appeal. Although the water can feel chilly in early summer, it becomes comfortably warm by July, offering excellent swimming conditions through early September before gradually cooling again toward fall.
