** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lacamas Lake, in Clark County near Camas, Washington, is a shallow, dam-created lake that typically stays cool for much of the year. Seasonal surface temperatures commonly run from about 40–50°F (4–10°C) in winter, rise to roughly 45–60°F (7–15°C) in spring, peak in summer around 60–75°F (15–24°C) at the warmest surface layers, and fall back to roughly 50–60°F (10–16°C) in autumn. Because the lake is relatively shallow in places, late summer can produce the warmest surface readings but deeper water remains noticeably colder. Temperatures can vary day-to-day with air warmth, sunlight, and wind, and thermal stratification is limited compared with deeper lakes.
Swimming is not formally managed at Lacamas Lake the way it is at lifeguarded beaches; there are no official, staffed swimming areas, and access points are mostly for fishing, boating, and trail use. People do swim there, but local authorities and park signage may discourage or advise caution during harmful algal bloom events, after heavy rain when runoff elevates bacteria levels, or where underwater hazards and steep, slippery banks exist. If you plan to enter the water, check current local advisories, be prepared for cool temperatures below the surface, and use personal safety precautions since lifeguards are not provided.
