*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Ibones de Anayet are high mountain glacial lakes in the Aragonese Pyrenees whose water temperatures reflect their altitude and alpine climate. After snowmelt in late spring the surface water typically sits very cold, often between 0–6 °C (32–43 °F) in May–June as ice melts and inflows remain chilly. In the warmest weeks of July and August temperatures may rise to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) at best in shallow, sun-exposed areas, but even mid-summer averages are usually below what most swimmers find comfortable. By autumn the lakes cool again to around 2–6 °C (36–43 °F) and in winter they are commonly frozen or at temperatures at or just above 0 °C (32 °F).
Swimming in the Ibones de Anayet is physically possible but uncommon and generally not encouraged for several reasons. There are no organized bathing facilities or lifeguards, the narrow window of milder water makes prolonged immersion risky, and hypothermia is a real hazard even in summer. Additionally, these lakes lie in sensitive high-mountain environments where trampling and disturbance can affect fragile flora and fauna, so local regulations or land managers may advise against recreational swimming. Visitors should respect any posted rules, be aware of rapid weather changes, and prioritize safety and conservation.
