*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse de Búbal (commonly called Búbal reservoir) in the Tena Valley of Aragón is a mountain reservoir whose water temperature reflects its altitude and snow‑fed inflows. Surface temperatures typically stay cool year‑round: in winter the water often ranges around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), spring brings a gradual rise to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F), and summer surface readings commonly sit between 12–20 °C (54–68 °F), with sheltered shallows occasionally reaching about 22 °C (72 °F) on hot, calm days. In autumn temperatures fall back toward 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) as inflows cool. Deeper water remains markedly colder than surface measurements, and sudden weather or inflow changes can lower temperatures quickly.
Swimming opportunities exist in and around the reservoir but are influenced by safety, water‑management rules and seasonal conditions. Bathing close to the dam, intake structures or during high inflow periods is unsafe and often prohibited; some shoreline coves are used informally for swimming in summer when surface temperatures are highest. Local authorities and the electricity or water company may restrict access at times to protect water quality, navigation and safety, so visitors should heed signage and local guidance before entering the water.
