** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The mountain lake known as Ibón de Truchas in Aragón sits high in the Pyrenean landscape and is characterized by cold, often crystal-clear water. Seasonal surface temperatures vary markedly: in winter the surface is commonly at or below freezing, often covered by ice and snow, so temperatures are around 0 °C (32 °F) or lower. In spring as snowmelt feeds the ibón, temperatures typically range from about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F). Peak summer can warm the upper layers to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) on the warmest days, while autumn sees a decline back toward roughly 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) as cooler nights and runoff dominate.
Swimming in Ibón de Truchas is physically possible but limited by safety and conservation considerations. There is no universal prohibition across all high mountain ibones, yet the very low temperatures, sudden weather changes, and remote access make prolonged bathing risky because of hypothermia and lack of facilities or rescue services. Additionally, some lakes lie within protected natural areas where authorities may discourage or regulate bathing to preserve fragile ecosystems. Visitors who choose to enter the water should be aware of these risks, limit immersion time, and respect local signage and rules.
