*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Enijärvi, a typical northern lake in the Lapland region of Finland, offers pristine wild swimming opportunities. Swimming is allowed along its publicly accessible shores during the ice-free season, protected by the Finnish Everyman’s Rights. This principle ensures the public can enjoy the waterways for recreation, provided they adhere to safety guidelines and avoid infringing on private property. The lake’s clean, oligotrophic waters provide an exceptionally clear and refreshing, albeit often cold, bathing environment amidst the quiet beauty of the Lapland fells.
The water temperature of Enijärvi is characteristic of a sub-Arctic climate, with very cold conditions dominating the year. The lake is frozen for a prolonged period, typically from October to May, with the water under the ice remaining at a frigid 0∘C to 4∘C. The season for comfortable swimming is extremely short, generally confined to a few weeks in July. During this brief summer peak, the surface temperature may briefly rise to a maximum range of 14∘C to 19∘C, especially in shallow bays. Outside of July, the water is cool, mainly appealing to dedicated cold-water swimmers.
