*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bergviken in Gävleborg County (Swedish: Bergviken) is a small inland lake whose water temperature follows typical seasonal patterns for south-central Sweden. In spring the surface waters commonly range from about 2–12 °C (36–54 °F) as ice melts and the lake mixes. During summer the water most often warms to roughly 15–22 °C (59–72 °F), with sheltered shallow bays occasionally reaching the mid-20s °C (around 75 °F) on hot days. Autumn brings a steady cooling back toward 5–12 °C (41–54 °F), while winter temperatures fall to around 0 °C (32 °F) at the surface and the lake can be ice-covered for parts of the season, depending on winter severity.
Swimming at Bergviken is generally permitted and commonly practised at designated shores and bathing spots, provided there are no local restrictions posted. Local authorities normally monitor water quality at popular sites, so swimming is allowed when tests and signage indicate it is safe. Outside the warm summer months swimmers should be cautious because cold water increases hypothermia risk, and some areas may have sudden depth changes or no lifeguards. Visitors are advised to follow posted rules, observe water quality notices, and use usual open-water safety precautions.
