The Falls of Falloch lie in Glen Falloch near Crianlarich in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The waterfall is part of the River Falloch, which flows down from the surrounding hills, carrying cool, clear water year-round. In winter, the water temperature usually ranges from 3–5 °C (37–41 °F), rising slightly to around 7–9 °C (45–48 °F) in spring. During the summer months, the pool below the falls can warm to 12–14 °C (54–57 °F) on sunny days, though shaded sections and flowing water stay colder. By autumn, temperatures typically drop again toward 8–10 °C (46–50 °F), keeping the falls crisp and refreshing in every season.
Swimming is allowed at the Falls of Falloch and has become popular among wild swimmers, especially in the natural plunge pool known as “Rob Roy’s Bathtub.” The water is clean and scenic, but its depth and cold temperature mean it is best suited to confident swimmers.
