*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Dulsie Bridge lies above the River Findhorn in the Scottish Highlands, a few miles south of Nairn. The river flows through a rocky gorge surrounded by forest and moorland, with water that remains cold throughout the year due to its upland source and fast-moving current. In winter, temperatures are typically around 3–5 °C (37–41 °F), rising to about 7–9 °C (45–48 °F) in spring. During summer, calmer stretches may reach 13–15 °C (55–59 °F) on warm days, though shaded areas beneath the bridge and in deeper pools stay much cooler. By autumn, the river’s temperature generally falls again toward 9–11 °C (48–52 °F), reflecting the cool, steady climate of the Highlands.
Swimming near Dulsie Bridge is possible but should be approached with caution, as the River Findhorn’s current can be strong and the water deep in places. Some experienced wild swimmers visit the calmer pools downstream, especially during summer, when conditions are safer. Wetsuits are recommended for longer swims, as even in warm weather the water feels cold. The bridge and surrounding gorge are popular for walking, picnicking, and photography. Nearby attractions include the Findhorn Valley, Logie Steading visitor centre, and the forests and trails of the Cairngorms National Park.
