Volochysk sits on the left bank of the Zbruch River in western Ukraine, in a region where summers are warm and the terrain includes uplands and rolling hills. Because Zbruch flows through such mixed landscapes, shallow sunlit zones near Volochysk may warm up quite noticeably during July and August — in calm bends, surface temperatures might reach around 22–25 °C. However, deeper pools, shaded stretches or parts with flowing current likely remain cooler — perhaps 18–20 °C. Early in the season (late spring / early summer), the water will be significantly cooler — likely between 14–18 °C — making long swims less comfortable.
Swimming in the Zbruch River at Volochysk is possible in selected spots: gentler banks, slow current, and areas where entry into the water is safe.
