*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Pek River in Eastern Serbia, known as the Golden River due to its gold-bearing sand, is a relatively smaller, fast-flowing river originating in the Kučaj mountains. Due to its typically swift current, rocky segments, and historical association with mining, swimming in the Pek is generally not officially encouraged or supervised and is rarely practiced by the general public. While some locals may occasionally take a refreshing dip in calmer, shallower sections, the river's overall conditions necessitate caution, and it is primarily used for fishing rather than recreation.
As a river that drains a mountainous and forested area, the Pek maintains a cool temperature throughout the year. In the colder months, from approximately November to March, the water temperature is very low, ranging from 2∘C to 7∘C, often causing ice formation near the banks and making swimming impossible. During the summer, the Pek remains quite cool, with surface temperatures in July and August typically reaching a brisk range of only 17∘C to 20∘C. This provides a refreshing, but generally cold, experience, limiting swimming to short periods on the hottest days.
