*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bacău (Romanian: Bacău), located in the North-East of Romania, sits near a mix of rivers, reservoirs and small lakes that reflect the region’s temperate-continental climate. Water temperature in these lakes follows clear seasonal patterns: in winter surface temperatures often fall close to freezing, roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F); spring sees a rise to about 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) as the water warms; summer typically brings the warmest conditions, with many shallow lakes reaching 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) or occasionally a few degrees higher on heatwaves; in autumn temperatures decline again to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). Local differences appear depending on depth, inflow from rivers, and shading from vegetation, so two nearby lakes can feel quite different.
Swimming is possible at selected locations around Bacău, but it is not universally permitted everywhere. Official bathing spots or managed beaches allow swimming when water quality tests are satisfactory and when signage, lifeguards or local regulations indicate it is safe. Many smaller or privately owned water bodies are used informally for swimming, yet risks such as strong currents in river-connected areas, sudden depth changes, submerged hazards and occasional algal blooms mean authorities may restrict access at times. Visitors should follow posted notices, check recent water-quality reports where available, and use designated facilities for safer swimming.
