*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Focșani (in Romanian - Focșani) in the southeast of Romania lies in a continental zone with several small rivers, tributaries and man-made lakes or ponds in its vicinity. Water temperatures in rivers through the area typically range from about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter, 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) in spring, and roughly 18–22 °C (64–72 °F) in summer, with cooler currents in deeper or faster stretches. Small, shallow lakes and quarry ponds warm more in summer and can reach 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) at peak, while in autumn both river and lake temperatures fall back to about 8–16 °C (46–61 °F). Local variations depend on depth, flow and recent weather; after heatwaves shallow still waters warm more quickly than flowing rivers.
Swimming opportunities exist but are limited and conditional. There are few formally designated public bathing sites immediately in Focșani, so many people swim in slow river bends or quarry lakes during the warm months (generally June–September) when temperatures are highest. However, authorities and health services may restrict bathing because of water quality concerns—agricultural runoff, sewage inputs and lack of monitoring—and safety risks such as currents, submerged hazards and absence of lifeguards. Winter swimming is uncommon except for organized cold-water events; otherwise swimming is effectively permitted only where local rules and water-quality testing indicate it is safe.
