*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Râul Buzău (the Buzău River) in south‑eastern Romania shows distinct seasonal water temperature patterns that vary along its course from the mountainous source to the lowland plain. In winter temperatures in the upper reaches often hover around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while lower stretches can be slightly warmer but usually remain close to freezing. Spring sees a rise to roughly 5–12 °C (41–54 °F) as snowmelt and rainfall increase flows. In summer, shallow, slow-moving pools and lowland sections commonly reach 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), sometimes peaking higher on particularly warm days, whereas mountain-fed sections remain cooler at 10–15 °C (50–59 °F). Autumn cooling brings temperatures back to about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) before winter refreezing or near‑freezing conditions resume.
Swimming in the Buzău River is possible in many locations, especially during summer when water is warmest and flows are moderate, but it is not universally recommended everywhere. Safety and legality depend on local conditions: strong currents, sudden depth changes, flood episodes (notably during spring), water quality near urban or industrial areas, and private riverbank ownership can make bathing unsafe or restricted. Designated or well‑known local spots tend to be preferred by swimmers, while checking local signage, authorities, and recent water quality information is advisable before entering the river.
