*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Tábua (Portuguese: Tábua) is a municipality in the Coimbra District of central Portugal situated near inland rivers and reservoirs where locals and visitors seek open‑water recreation. Surface water temperatures in the lakes and reservoirs around Tábua vary by season and by year, and are influenced by air temperature, rainfall and upstream flows. Typical seasonal surface ranges are roughly: winter 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), spring 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), summer 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) with occasional warm spells to about 28 °C (82 °F), and autumn 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). These figures describe surface conditions; deeper water will be colder and short-term weather can push temperatures outside these bands.
Swimming is commonly practised in designated spots during the warmer months because summer surface temperatures are generally comfortable for bathing. However, whether swimming is formally allowed depends on local municipal rules, signage and water‑quality monitoring; some reservoirs restrict access for safety, water‑supply protection or boating activity. Visitors should follow posted warnings, check recent water‑quality reports where available, and be aware that lifeguards are not always present and that currents, underwater hazards and boat traffic can affect safety even when temperatures are suitable.
