*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Vilnius (Lithuanian: Vilnius) is surrounded by several small lakes and reservoirs that offer local swimming opportunities, especially in the warmer months. Typical seasonal surface water temperatures in these lakes range from near freezing in winter (0 to 4 °C, 32 to 39 °F) to cool in spring (April–May) at about 4 to 12 °C (39 to 54 °F). By early summer temperatures commonly reach 15 to 20 °C (59 to 68 °F), and during the warmest weeks of July and August they often rise to 20–25 °C (68–77 °F), occasionally a little higher in shallow, sheltered bays. In autumn the water cools back to roughly 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) before ice forms.
Swimming is generally allowed in designated beaches and recreational areas where local authorities monitor water quality and safety; lifeguards may be present at some popular spots during summertime. Because temperatures are only reliably pleasant for casual swimming in midsummer, many residents limit prolonged swims to that season. Algal blooms, sudden weather changes and underwater hazards can affect safety and quality, and winter ice swimming is practiced by enthusiasts only with appropriate precautions and knowledge of ice conditions.
