*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pilaitė (Lithuanian: Pilaitė) is a residential area with several small lakes and ponds and access to nearby rivers. Water temperatures in those inland bodies follow the typical Baltic inland pattern: in spring (March–May) surface temperatures generally range from about 4–15 °C (39–59 °F) as ice melts and air temperatures rise. By early to mid-summer (June–July) shallow ponds and small lakes commonly reach 15–22 °C (59–72 °F), with peak summer highs of around 18–25 °C (64–77 °F) and occasional heatwave readings near 26–27 °C (79–81 °F). Rivers tend to remain cooler because of flow, usually sitting around 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) in summer. In autumn (September–October) temperatures fall to roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) and in winter most inland waters approach freezing, often 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) with ice cover.
Swimming opportunities exist in Pilaitė mainly as informal, seasonal recreation when weather and temperatures are favorable. Many ponds are used by locals in summer, but official supervised beaches and routine water-quality monitoring are limited, so municipal advisories, visible pollution or algal blooms, and safety factors such as depth and underwater obstacles determine whether swimming is recommended. In short, swimming is possible in summer when temperatures are warm, but it is allowed and advisable only when local authorities or clear conditions indicate safe water quality and access.
