The temperature does not cause significant discomfort, and swimming will be pleasant for the majority. However, it's important to remember that prolonged exposure to the water can still lead to cooling, so it's essential to monitor the time spent in the water, especially for children or elderly people. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. When the air temperature is below 68°F (20°C), and sometimes even below 77°F (25°C), swimming can be unpleasant even with relatively high water temperatures.

** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Sassuolo is an inland town in Emilia-Romagna and does not sit on a large natural lake; the local landscape is mainly lowland and river valleys (for example the Secchia River) with the nearest sizeable mountain reservoirs and lakes located in the Apennines some tens of kilometres to the south. Water temperatures in those nearby lakes and reservoirs vary with altitude and depth but typically follow a seasonal pattern: in spring surface temperatures often range from about 6–15 °C (43–59 °F), in summer from roughly 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), in autumn from about 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), and in winter they commonly fall to 4–8 °C (39–46 °F). Shallower or more sheltered basins can warm a few degrees higher in hot summers, while deep reservoirs remain cooler.
Swimming opportunities therefore depend on location and season. Designated bathing areas at nearby lakes and managed reservoirs generally allow swimming in the warmer months when temperatures are comfortable and water quality is monitored, and these sites often have signage, lifeguards or restricted zones. Wild swimming in local rivers or unregulated ponds is less recommended because of variable currents, water quality and safety concerns; within Sassuolo itself public swimming is more commonly available in municipal pools rather than natural lakes. Always check local notices and regulations before entering the water.
