Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The town of Modriča is located in the northern region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, situated near the lower stretch of the Bosna River before it joins the Sava. While the Bosna is a lengthy river originating from cold karst springs, its northern reaches are influenced by the warmer, continental climate of the Pannonian Plain. In winter, the river's temperature is cold, typically ranging from 4∘C to 8∘C. However, the summer heat significantly warms the slower-moving water in the Modriča area, allowing the river to reach the most comfortable swimming temperatures, usually between 23∘C and 26∘C in July and August.
Swimming in the Bosna River near Modriča is generally permitted and widely practiced during the peak summer months. The pleasant, warm summer temperatures make the river an attractive place for cooling off. Historically, the Bosna has been a popular local swimming spot, though formal, regulated beaches with safety supervision may be limited. While the river's slow flow in this lower basin is conducive to bathing, swimmers should be mindful of water quality fluctuations and stick to established, informal bathing areas where locals are known to swim.
