** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Tirana (Albanian: Tirana), capital of Tirana County, is home to the artificial Tirana Lake in the Grand Park, which is a visible recreational feature of the city. Surface water temperatures in the lake vary with the seasons: in winter (December–February) they typically fall to about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), in spring (March–May) they commonly rise to 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), in summer (June–August) surface readings often reach 22–28 °C (72–82 °F), and in autumn (September–November) they generally cool to roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). Shallow areas warm fastest in hot spells and the lake can show considerable short-term variation after heavy rain or heatwaves.
Swimming in the lake is generally discouraged and in many respects not officially sanctioned because of water quality, safety and management concerns. Periodic pollution from urban runoff, occasional algal growth, limited water treatment, submerged debris and the absence of permanent lifeguard services make formal bathing inadvisable; as a result, authorities emphasize recreational use of the shoreline, walking paths and boating rather than organized swimming. Informal dips do occur during warm summer days, but they carry potential health and safety risks and are not part of the lake’s regulated activities.
