*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lushnjë sits on the lowlying Myzeqe plain and is crossed by the Shkumbin River, with a network of small reservoirs, irrigation ponds and streams scattered across the agricultural landscape. Water temperatures in the Shkumbin and similar lowland rivers typically range seasonally from about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) in winter, 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) in spring, and 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) in summer, falling back to 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) in autumn. Shallower irrigation ponds and small reservoirs warm and cool more quickly; these can reach roughly 20–28 °C (68–82 °F) in hot summer months and fall to about 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) in the coldest season. Local conditions such as recent rainfall, river discharge and shading by vegetation can shift these ranges by several degrees.
Swimming in Lushnjë’s rivers and ponds is possible and is practiced informally, especially in summer when temperatures are comparatively comfortable, but there are few if any formally maintained public bathing sites with lifeguards. Water quality can be variable because of agricultural runoff, low summer flows and occasional algal growth, so authorities or locals sometimes advise caution. Currents, submerged debris and lack of supervision are additional safety considerations; for these reasons recreational swimming is best limited to well-known local spots and avoided after heavy rains or where pollution is evident.
