*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Pinya River is a small but notable river in Zakarpattia, flowing through the popular resort area of Polyana (Svaliava district). As a typical Carpathian river fed by mountain streams and precipitation, it is characterized by a relatively fast current and remains quite cool throughout the year. At the height of the summer season, in July and August, the water temperature in the Pinya River typically hovers around +18 to +20∘C in shallow sections. This is a refreshing temperature but may not be warm enough for long, relaxing swims.
Swimming opportunities in the Pinya River are limited by its natural features and infrastructure. Since it is a mountain river, equipped beaches are rare. Locals and sanatorium guests choose natural backwaters and shallow crossings where the current is slower and the water depth is low for their dips. The main advantage of swimming in the Pinya is the clean, flowing water and the feeling of immersion in the Carpathian nature. However, caution is always necessary due to potential underwater stones and the uneven speed of the current.
It is worth noting that thermal waters, which are completely separate from the river itself, are very popular in the Pinya River valley. These hot springs provide a comfortable water temperature in special pools (up to +30 to +40∘C), offering therapeutic and relaxing recreation that is a complete opposite to the cool bathing experience in the natural river.
