** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Mlava River in Serbia, originating from a powerful karst spring (Vrelo Mlave) at the base of the Beljanica mountain, is characterized by its consistently cold water. The spring itself maintains a low and constant temperature, typically ranging from 3∘C to 12∘C year-round. Due to this extreme cold, swimming in the immediate vicinity of the spring is not recommended and is generally done only by the most resilient or as a quick dip, not for prolonged recreation. Downstream from the spring, the river gradually warms, but still remains significantly colder than most other Serbian rivers.
As the river flows through areas like Petrovac na Mlavi, the water temperature becomes more seasonally variable. In winter, temperatures often hover between 5∘C and 10∘C, while in the summer months, particularly in July and August, the water can warm up to a range of 18∘C to 22∘C in certain slower-moving stretches. While there are some popular local spots and beaches along the Mlava where people swim, these are typically unregulated. Therefore, swimming is generally allowed at one's own risk, with the primary caution being the river's overall coldness and strong currents rather than official prohibition.
