*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Euphrates (Fırat) as it passes near Gaziantep shows marked seasonal variation in surface temperature, with conditions shaped by climate, river depth, and dam releases upstream. Typical surface temperatures can range roughly from about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) in winter, warming to 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) in spring. In summer sheltered shallow reaches may reach about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), while autumn commonly sees 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) as the river cools again. These figures are approximate; localized readings vary with time of day, recent rainfall, and whether water is released from deep reservoirs, which can keep outflows significantly colder than surface estimates.
Swimming in the Fırat around Gaziantep is not universally encouraged and is often restricted in specific locations. Practical and regulatory reasons include strong currents, rapidly changing flows from dam operations, cold releases that risk hypothermia, variable water quality and limited emergency services or lifeguard coverage. In calmer side channels or designated recreational areas people sometimes swim when authorities permit, but many stretches are effectively off-limits for safety and management reasons. Visitors should consult local signs and officials and exercise caution; permission and favorable local conditions are key determinants of whether swimming is allowed.
