The Bosut River flows through the flat plains of northwestern Serbia, passing mainly through the Srem region before joining the Sava near Šabac. Because of its slow flow and low gradient, the Bosut has a relatively stable water temperature compared to mountain rivers. In spring, the water warms from around 12 to 17 °C, while in summer it often reaches 22–27 °C, sometimes even higher during prolonged heat. In autumn, it cools to about 15–19 °C, and in winter it drops below 5 °C, with occasional freezing in shallow sections. The calm flow and surrounding greenery make the river an important local natural feature.
Swimming in the Bosut River is possible and popular among locals during the warmest months, particularly in July and August when the water is pleasant. Several rural areas along the river serve as informal bathing spots. However, since the river is shallow and contains vegetation in some sections, it is recommended to swim only in clean and deeper parts. Water quality is generally good in summer, and the low current makes it safe for recreational swimming. The Bosut provides a peaceful setting for swimming, fishing, and relaxation in the flat landscapes of Vojvodina.
