** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Bormida (Italian: Bormida) in Liguria is a modest mountain-fed river whose water temperature varies noticeably through the year because of seasonal flow, elevation and rainfall. In winter the river is cold, typically around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), while spring temperatures rise to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as snowmelt and fresher inflows moderate. By summer many sheltered pools and slower stretches warm to roughly 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), making that season the warmest for the river; autumn sees cooling back to about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as air temperatures fall and flows increase.
Swimming is physically possible in many sections of the Bormida and is most common in summer when temperatures are comfortable. Whether swimming is allowed, however, depends on local rules, signage and actual water quality at a given spot; some stretches can be subject to strong currents, sudden depth changes or contamination after heavy rain, so local guidance should be consulted. Cold, fast flows in spring and winter make immersion risky due to cold shock and stronger currents, while summer pools are generally the safest and most suitable for casual swimming provided you choose monitored or commonly used sites and observe any posted warnings.
