*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Acheron (Αχέρων) in Epirus is a mountain-fed river whose water remains relatively cool year-round because of spring sources and shaded gorges. Typical seasonal temperatures vary: in winter the river often measures around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), spring temperatures usually rise to about 8–14 °C (46–57 °F), summer can bring the warmest stretches to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) in sheltered pools, and autumn sees a return toward 8–14 °C (46–57 °F). Local conditions such as recent rainfall, snowmelt and the depth of specific pools can change these values, so temperatures at particular swimming spots may differ from the general ranges.
Swimming is permitted in many accessible parts of the Acheron, and visitors often bathe in clear pools near the springs and calmer stretches, but it is not uniformly recommended everywhere. Cold water temperatures, strong currents in narrower reaches, submerged rocks and variable flow after rain create hazards; these factors, together with occasional local restrictions to protect ecosystems, mean caution is necessary. Many people enjoy short dips or supervised activities like rafting and guided swims with life jackets, but prolonged immersion can risk hypothermia. It is sensible to check local advice, observe signage, and favor designated or frequently used swimming spots.
