** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse de Susqueda, a reservoir on the Ter River in Catalonia, typically shows noticeable seasonal variation in surface water temperature. In winter the surface often sits around 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), spring temperatures commonly range from about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F), and summer surface readings usually climb to roughly 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) depending on air heatwaves and sunlight. In autumn the water cools back toward roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). Because Susqueda is relatively deep in places and fed by river inflows, deeper layers remain colder year-round, so measured temperatures can differ substantially with depth and location within the reservoir.
Swimming is possible in many parts of the reservoir and is a common recreational activity in warm months, but it is subject to local rules and safety considerations. Some zones close to the dam, intake structures or navigation channels may be restricted, and there are often no lifeguards, so visitors should heed signage and municipal regulations. Water quality is generally suitable for bathing, yet cold thermoclines, steep drop-offs and nearby boat traffic make caution advisable; checking current local guidance before swimming is recommended.
