*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse del Pasteral (Pantà del Pasteral) in Catalonia is a small reservoir whose surface temperatures vary noticeably through the year. In winter the water typically sits around 6–10 °C (43–50 °F), spring temperatures rise to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F), summer surface temperatures commonly reach 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) on warm days, and autumn cools back to about 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). These ranges depend on recent weather, inflows and the depth of the particular bay: shallow, sun-exposed areas warm faster, while deeper sections remain markedly cooler. Sudden temperature changes can occur after storms or heavy releases from upstream, so thermal stratification and colder layers are possible even in summer.
Swimming at the Pasteral is physically feasible during the warmer months when surface temperatures are most comfortable, and many visitors choose to bathe in summer. Whether swimming is officially allowed, however, depends on local management and water-use rules: some reservoirs restrict bathing to protect water quality or for safety reasons, while others tolerate informal swimming when conditions permit. Potential hazards include underwater obstructions, changing currents, lack of lifeguards and variable water quality, so it is advisable to follow posted signs, local guidance and basic safety precautions before entering the water.
