** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Lake of Sau Reservoir (Pantà de Sau) in Catalonia is a mountain reservoir whose water temperature varies with the Mediterranean climate and seasonal inflows. Typical winter temperatures are cool, roughly 6–10 °C (43–50 °F), rising in spring to about 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). In summer the surface can warm to roughly 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), and on hot peaks sometimes reaches the high 20s °C (around 79–82 °F). Autumn brings a gradual cooling back toward the spring range, commonly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). These averages depend on weather, depth, and water release from upstream, so local conditions can vary day to day.
Regarding swimming, authorities commonly restrict bathing in many inland reservoirs to protect water quality and for safety, and the Pantà de Sau has historically had limitations for recreational swimming for those same reasons. While people sometimes swim informally in calmer or less controlled spots, official rules and water-management priorities (drinking supply, boat traffic, submerged hazards) mean that designated, supervised swimming areas are generally not provided; visitors should check current local regulations before entering the water to avoid fines and ensure safety.
