*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse de Darnius-Boadella, a reservoir in Catalonia, typically shows marked seasonal variation in surface water temperature. In summer months the surface usually warms to about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), making swimming most comfortable then; early autumn and late spring temperatures commonly range from 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). In spring the water can still be cool, around 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), and in winter surface temperatures commonly fall to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F). Deeper layers remain colder year-round and thermoclines can form in warm months, so a quick drop in temperature is possible just a few metres below the surface.
Swimming in the reservoir is possible and often practiced in accessible coves and along the shoreline during warm weather, but there are few if any officially supervised beaches, so local regulations, signage and occasional temporary bans for water management or quality reasons must be respected. Authorities may restrict bathing to protect drinking-water catchments, to manage safety around boat traffic and steep underwater banks, or when algal blooms or low flows create health concerns. Visitors should therefore check current local guidance, be cautious of cold deep water and lack of lifeguards, and choose sheltered spots away from motorboats.
